Rapist gets ten-year jail term in Bihar
Patna, Nov 24(UNI) A fast track court today awarded ten year rigorous imprisonment to a person for committing rape on a mentally deranged girl.
The court also slaped a fine of Rs 1,000 on the convict.
Presiding officer of the fast track court no. II, Ajit Kumar Sinha, found Promod Kumar, a resident of Simra village under Parsa Bazar police station in Patna district, guilty of raping the girl.
According to the charges, the convict had criminally assaulted a sixteen-year old mentally challenged girl on March 10, 2005 at a place under Parsa Bazar police station in Patna district.
