Poll code violation case registered against Sidhu
Narsinghpur, MP, Nov 24 (UNI) A case has been registered against BJP MP and star campaigner Navjot Singh Sidhu by police for alleged violation of model code of conduct at Kareli in this district.
On the directions of the District Returning Officer, the case was registered against Mr Sidhu for making objectionable statements during an election meeting at Kareli on November 19.
Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) candidate from Narsinghpur assembly seat Jalam Singh had lodged a complaint with the Election Commission in this regard and submitted a video clipping along with it.
The complaint alleged that Mr Sidhu had made a statement that anyone not voting for the BJP will commit sin equal to consuming beef.
The Election Commission found the complaint appeared true during preliminary investigation and registered a case of poll code violation today.
