Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 24 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told the State Assembly today that his government had not given any special concession to the proposed SmartCity project in Kochi.

Replying to questions, he said in fact it had cancelled all concessions including the offer to give the Info-park to SmartCity promoters by the previous UDF government.

Mr Achuthanandan made it clear that the government would protect the state's interests before taking any decision on providing concessions to the project and the promoters had to adhere to the terms and conditions of the government.

Excluding Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakaulam districts, IT parks would be set up in all other districts and the Centre had already been approached for getting SEZ status for the IT parks in Kasaragod, Alappuzha and Kannur, he said.

Facilities and benefits enjoyed by Techno-park and Info-park would also be extended to all those who wanted to invest in IT parks, he added.
