Gulbarga, Nov 24 (UNI) Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President R V Deshpande today ruled out any alliance with JD(S) in the by-elections to the eight assembly seats in the state.
Addressing a press conference here, he admitted that there were some differences among the Congress leaders in reaching an alliance with the JD(S). Moreover, there was no positive response from JD (S) either. ''The Congress party will fight the by-elections without any alliance. We will announce our candidates soon'', he said.
Launching a scathing attack on the Yeddyurappa led BJP government, he said the BJP government has failed on all fronts and had no moral right to continue in power. ''Except excise tax collection, the other sources of income to the state government have declined considerably. The state government's financial position was in an alarming state due to misadministration'', he added.
Later, addressing a party workers meeting, the KPCC President held the state government responsible for the unprecedented power crisis in the state. The power scarcity had hit not only the industrial sector, but also agriculture.
