Puducherry, Nov 24 (UNI) The Puducherry administration would provide reservation for minorities in education and employment opportunities before the end of December, Welfare Minister M Kandasamy said here today.
Speaking at a function organised to mark the 'Minorities Day' at Ariyankauppam near here, Mr Kandasamy said all Muslims were not terrorists, but the wrong deeds of a few cast an apprehension on them and added that the territorial administration was taking steps to economically uplift them. The Government works for the provision of reservation for the minorities were over and is waiting for the recommendations of the Judge.
Mr Kandasamy, who exhorted people to strive to eradicate caste feelings also said the administration was contemplating steps to reduce the price of commodities, including rice and to supply quality products at a subsidised rate.
