Governor asks media to analyse progress of Haryana
Chandigarg, Nov 24 (UNI) Haryana Governor A R Kidwai today gave a clarion call to the journalists to analyse the progress of Haryana so as to pin point the areas where the state was lagging behind.
This was stated by the Governor while addressing the gathering on the occasion of award ceremony and releasing of souvenirs to mark the 57th death anniversary of freedom fighter and patriot Lala Des Bandhu Gupta at Raj Bhawan, here today. The function was organised by Yuva Netritav Jyoti Institute of Panipat.
The Governor and Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda released the four souvenirs about the life and deeds of Desh Bandhu Gupta. They honoured the eminent personalities of the State who had made contributions in the field of education, literature and social service.
The special Desh Bandhu Award was given to the only surviving member of the Constituent Assembly, Ch Ranbir Singh, father of the Chief Minister. The award on his behalf was received by the Chief Minister.
A special award on behalf of Yuva Netritav Jyoti was also given to the Chief Minister for his contribution in the development of the State.
The other members who had awards were Ashok Malik, Assistant Editor, Dainik Tribune, Pritpal Singh Pannu, Chairman, Niffa, Desh Bandhu Nirmohi, Director, Haryana Sahitya Akademi, Aasutosh Gautam of Karnal and Ramesh Saini.
