Gold closes at Rs 13,135
Mumbai, Nov 24 (UNI) Gold today crossed 13K level to end at five-week high of Rs 13,135 per ten gm, while silver surged by Rs 325 per kg at Rs 17,100, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.
The yellow metal glittered by Rs 1,120 in the last four days.
Standard and pure gold opened low at Rs 12,870 and Rs 12,945 per ten gm respectively, on lack of buying enquiries by stockists. However, standard and pure gold ended firm at Rs 13,135 and Rs 13,195 after soaring by Rs 140 and Rs 135 per ten gm respectively, on speculative demand along with high global advice, Silver opened high at Rs 16,840 per kg on better buying support from ornament makers. Finally, the white metal shot up by Rs 325 per kg to cross 17K and closed at Rs 17,100 from its previous close.
In other Asian markets too, an upward march was seen in the precious metals as gold was quoted at USD 802.003.25 (756.007.50) per troy ounce and silver at USD 09.95.96 (09.20.21) per troy ounce.
