Command of Chinar Corps handed over to Lt Gen Bikram Singh

Srinagar, Nov 24 (UNI) The command of prestigious Chinar Corps was today handed over to Lt General Bikram Singh by Lt General Mukesh Sabarwal at a ceremony here.

Gen Sabharwal proceeded to Army Headquarters to assume the coveted appointment of ''Adjutant General'' of the Army.

Before the ceremony, both the General Officers laid floral wreaths at the Corps War Memorial and paid rich tributes to the brave martyrs of the Corps.

Gen Bikram Singh, an alumni of National Defence Academy (NDA), was commissioned into the Sikh Light Infantry Regiment on March 31, 1972.

The General Officer had over five tenures in Jammu and Kashmir, including Command of Battalion, Brigade as also a Division.

In his distinguished career spanning over 36 years, he has had the experience of varied Command and Staff Appointments.
