Srinagar, Nov 24 (UNI) A fresh batch of 395 Hajjis from Jammu and Kashmir today left from Sheikh-ul-Alam airport for Jeddah where 38 Indian pilgrims had died so far.
Official sources said 395 Hajis left for Jeddah in two special flights.
With this the total number of 8107 pilgrims have so far left from here for undertaking the pilgrimage during 2008 since the commencement of pilgrimage from October 30.
Official reports reaching here said 38 hajis from different Indian states died due to heart failure and road accidents in the holy cities of Makka and Madina since October 30. Those died during the pilgrimage included 16 from Uttar Pradesh, four from Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh two each, Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan one each.
