Terrorism to figure in Indo-Pak meeting tomorrow at wagah

Amritsar, Nov 23 (UNI) Terrorism will be one of the main issues that will figure in the Secretary level talks between officials of India and Pakistan who will meet at the Wagah joint border check post manned by the Border Security agencies of the two countries.

'Terrorism basically hurts all and this must be tackled' Union Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta said after paying obessiance at the Golden tmeple here tonight.

Mr. Gupta will lead the Indian delegation to the talks at Wagah tomorrow.

Besides terrorism the talks which are part of the Confidences Building Measdures (C B M) will also discuss issues related to drug smuggling,including heroin which has been making its way into Punjab through Pakistan.

The other issues will be centred around exchange of civil prisoners and the establishment of Visa centre in Amritsar,Mr.Gupta said that the expansion of the Wagah check post would also be discussed so as to make it into a intergrated check post, which will take care of multiple activities.

Mr Gupta when questioned about 'Hindu terrorism' said " I will not name anyone as we have to tackle all forms of Terrorism and ensure justice to soeiety." He said that security agencies in India were capable of meeting all forms of challenges.

Mr. Gupta said that in the just concluded meeting of the DGP's clear cut instructions had been given to tackle terrorism and ensure peace in the country.

Mr.Gupta and his wife besides Secretary Border Management Jarnail Singh who also paid obeissance at the Golden Temple were honoured with Saropas.
