Over 60 pc polling in sec phase of J
New Delhi, Nov 23 (UNI) Over 60 per cent voters today exercised their franchise during the second phase of polling in Jammu and Kashmir for six Assembly constituencies across two districts of Ganderbal and Rajouri.
According to Election Commission spokesperson, the polling was peaceful and no untoward incident was reported. Nearly three lakh voters out of the 4.97 lakh electorate cast their votes, he added.
The poll percentage is expected to go up further when the detailed figures would be available from the remote areas, the spokesman added.
He said the polling time was extended from 1600 hrs in Ganderbal district to allow the voters standing in queues within 100 metres of the polling station.
