Meghalaya CM effects bureaucratic reshuffle
Shillong, Nov 23 (UNI) Chief Minister Donkupar Roy has effected a massive bureaucratic reshuffle in the state, an official sources said today.
Senior IAS official and additional Chief Secretary in-charge Home, WMS Pariat was affected by the reshuffle, as per the government's notification issued on November 21, evening.
Mr Pariat and Commissioner and Secretary Rebecca Suchiang were relieved of the post Home and appointed PBO Warjri as the new Principal Secretary, Home, while Dr Shreeranjan as Commissioner and Secretary, Home.
The chief minister, however, retained Mr Pariat as Chairman of Meghalaya State Electricity Board.
The reshuffling in the state's bureaucracy, especially in the Home Department assumed significance in the wake of last week's ''inconclusive talks'' on the boundary disputes between Meghalaya and Assam government.
Mr Warjri and Dr Shreeranjan will also continue to hold the posts of Principal Secretary, Planning and Programme Implementation and Commissioner and Secretary, Health and Family Welfare respectively.
Commissioner and Secretary Chief Minister's Secretariat, AK Bhalla will take over from Dr Shreeranjan as Commissioner and Secretary, Planning.
Commissioner and Secretary Mining and Geology Department, Arindam Som has been freshly allocated with Industries and Labour Department.
Resident Representative of Meghalaya House Alok Jain is the new Principal Resident Commissioner.
