India Post stall hogs limelight at Andaman's BNPIC
Diglipur, North Andaman, Nov 23 (UNI) The India post stall at the Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign, being organised at Diglipur Island of North Andaman region, got off to a buoyant start.
While the colourful stamps on display at the stall was a big draw with the children, adults evinced keen interest in the various schemes available.
''The most sought after schemes were the Postal Life Insurance and the Rural Postal Life Insurance schemes which charge the lowest premium and offer the highest bonus compared to any other life insurance policies. Both PLI, for government and semi-government employees and RPLI, for all rural citizens saw brisk business and by first day evening policies worth more than Rs 50 lakh were sold,'' Madhumita Das, the Director of India Post in Andaman told UNI today.
Meanwhile, at the sidelines of the PIC, India Post's instant International Money transfer service, in collaboration with leading international financial company Western Union, was extended and operationalised at the Diglipur Sub Post Office.
''Now residents of the remote village as well as foreign tourists can receive money from more than 200 countries across the world at this Diglipur sub-post office within minutes of the actual remittance,'' the Director of India Post in Andaman added.
