BJP challenges Cong to debate in MP
Bhopal, Nov 23 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh's BJP today challenged the main opposition Congress to an open debate on the development issue.
''The Congress is alleging -- through public meetings and advertisements -- that five years of BJP rule ruined this state.
During polls, a democratic system gives parties a right to campaign but not to indulge in propaganda,'' BJP state President Narendra Singh Tomar told newspersons here.
Taking on the Congress for labelling Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan as a Chief Minister who made ''untrue'' speeches and announcements, Mr Tomar challenged the Congress to name a scheme that had not been implemented.
''Whenever necessary, the BJP government incurred debt, took grants and assistance for development. The regime strengthened both fiscal management and electricity management. Power generation was hiked by 3,150 megawatts. At least one lakh people were given employment opportunities,'' he claimed.
