396 Hajis from J
Srinagar, Nov 23 (UNI) Despite the undeclared curfew, a fresh batch of 396 Hajis left from Jammu and Kashmir today for Jeddah where 38 Indian pilgrims had died so far.
Official sources said 396 Hajis left for Jeddah in two special flights from Sheikh-ul Alam airport.
With this the total number of 4112 pilgrims have so far left from here for undertaking the pilgrimage during 2008 since the commencement of pilgrimage from October 30.
About 8000 piligrims from Jammu and Kashmir are to take part in Hajj-2008.
Official reports here said 38 Hajis from different Indian states died due to heart failures and road accidents in the holy cities of Makkah and Madhina since October 30. Those who died during the pilgrimage include 16 from Uttar Pradesh, four from Kerala, Maharashtra three Gujarat, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh two each, Jammu and Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan one each.
