Mah: 3 naxals hurt in encounter in Gadchiroli
Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, Nov 23: At least three naxalites were injured in an encounter in this district in Vidarbha region, police said.
The encounter took place when a group of naxalites, lying in wait, opened fire at a patrol party carrying out combing operations in the dense forest near village Nandigaon late last evening. The fire was returned, forcing the outlaws to flee into the jungle, with three of them sustaining injuries, police said.
Some arms and ammunition, including two hand grenades, a 303 rifle, a 12-bore rifle, 10 live cartridges, a 315 rifle, 10 live cartridges of a self-loading rifle (SLR) and two wireless sets, besides naxalite literature, was seized from the spot, police added.
