Maoist camp destroyed in elephant sanctuary
Jamshedpur, Nov 22 (UNI) Security forces today destroyed a transit camp of Maoist ultras in the Dalma sanctuary area, the world famous natural habitat of elephants, in Maoist-dominated East Singhbhum district.
Superintendent of Police Naveen K Singh told UNI that a team of CRPF, Special Task Force and Jharkhand armed police destroyed the camp after an encouter with the ultras between Kokadosa and Kokara villages under Patamda police station.
A can bomb, used in landmines and recovered from the spot, was also destroyed, he said.
However, there was no casualty or arrest.
Five detonators, 200 mt of fuse wire, one flash gun used to blast landmine, Maoist literature and a copy of a Bengali daily had also been recovered from the spot, he added.
