Kolkata, Nov 22 (UNI) Second seed Ayumi Morita of Japan today notched up the Gujarat NRE Coke 50,000 dollar ITF Women's Challenger 2008 title, outshining Romania's Elora Dabija in straight sets 6-3 and 6-1 at BTA Complex here.
The first set, which lasted for 38 minutes, saw a solitary break in the eighth game when Morita broke Dabija, who served two double faults. Morita had an ace to her credit on set point.
Although the second set witnessed resistance from Dabija, she lost the first, third and seventh games.
The sixth game went for as many as six deuces.
While Dabija served an ace and three double faults, Morita served two double faults.
Morita won 7,315 dollar and 35 ITF points, while runners-up Dabija secured 3,990 dollar as well as 25 ITF points.
The prizes were given away by Gujarat NRE Coke MD and CEO Arun Jagatramka.
