IIID organizes design presentations in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad, Nov 22 (UNI) The Institute of Indian Interior Designers' (IIID) Regional Chapter, in association with International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) today held design presentations and interactive discussions on 'Key Issues related to Interior Designing profession, vis-a-vis Globalization' at IIM-A campus here.
IFI President Shrikant Nivasarkar elaborated on the role of IFI for the profession of interior designing in the global context, and the profession's regulation in India.
The IIID had organized workshops called as 'WING' in association with IFI from November 12 till November20 in six cities across the country including Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Bengalaru, Pune and Surat, simultaneously.
The IIID, an apex professional body of practicing Interior Designers, has provided a platform to propogate this profession. The works completed during these workshops will end in an exposition at the finale to be held at National Institute of Design (NID) campus, here on November 23 and 24.
The IIID Ahmedabad Regional Chapter, chaired by Ms Chirashree Thakkar organised an interactive session with the IFI board members, who represent the Interior Design profession in eight countries.
The Design Presentations were made by renowned international designers like Shashi Caan (New York), Ronnie Choong (Malaysia), Petter Abrahamsen (Norway), Kees Spanjers (Netherlands) and Madeline Lester (Australia).
By organising the interior designing presentations, IIID was aimed to focus on key issues like education, norms of professional practice and facilitate the needs in the developing world.
