Bangalore, Nov 22 (UNI) Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni today indicated that Sachin Tendulkar, who returned to the one-day side after recovering from a shoulder injury, would open the innings with Virender Sehwag in the third ODI against England here tomorrow.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Dhoni said, ''I prefer to see Sachin open the innings with Sehwag tomorrow. It is always a pleasure to have this master batsman in the side. He needed some rest so he did not play (in the first three games). We want him to play as long as possible,'' he said.
Dhoni said Sachin should be played when the master blaster himself wishes to and if he prefers rest he should be given that as well.
Tendulkar's last ODI innings came Down Under in March this year where he was instrumental in India's win against Australia in the best-of-three-finals.
Dhoni said having Tendulkar in the side is always benificial, not only for the whole team but also for the individual players who keep learning by just watching him play.
''They (Players) can improve their game and style by just watching him,'' he said.
Dhoni further indicated that Tendulkar could be used as a good part-time bowler but said he was happy with the way other spinners have been chipping in for the team's cause.
''See, Yuvraj, Yusuf Pathan and Sehwag are bowling very well.
Raina is also in the scheme of things. When we need Sachin as a bowler we will use him,'' he said.
