HP urges Air India to restart Delhi-Kullu flights
Shimla, Nov 22 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has requested the Air India to restart its suspended Delhi-Kullu flights.
According to an official release issued here yesterday, Chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal had discussed the matter with Air India chief managing director Raghu Menon and told him that the coming winter season is likely to witness a sharp increase in the high spending tourists visiting the state on this air route, and while the private airlines were earning huge profits on this route, the Air India had suspended its flights on the excuse of the losses.
He termed the decision of the Air India as unfortunate and sought the Centre's interventaion in the matter.
He asked the Air India to shoulder the corporate social responsibility and also honour the public commitment of the Praful Patel, Civil Aviation Minister who had made an announcement of regular daily flight on this route.
