Former Mayor Satbir among 7 expelled for violating discipline

New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) Former Delhi Mayor Satbir Singh was among seven people expelled from the Congress today for contesting against official party candidates in the November 29 Assembly polls and violating party discipline.

Among those whose expulsion was announced by the Delhi Pradesh congress committee president Jai Prakash Agarwal were former Mayor and present Municipal councillor Satbir Singh who is contesting against official candidate Yoganand Shastri from Mehrauli.

Others who were expelled are vice president Ajit Singh Chadha, who is contesting from Tilak Nagar against the official candidate Anita Babbar;former MLA Roop Chand who is contesting from Gokalpur against official candidate Balzor Singh; municipal councillor Dhuli Chand Lohia who is contesting on the NCP symmbol against official canddiate from Rajouri Garden Dayanand Chandela, Veer Singh who is contesting against official candidate from Sangam Vihar Amod Kanth; Laxman Das Bajaj who is contesting against the official candidate from Rohtas Nagar Ram Babu Sharma and former MLA and executive member of the DPCC Ram Singh Netaji who is contesting as BSP candidate against official Congress candidate from Badarpur Ramvir Singh Bidhuri.

It is notable that Mr Ram Singh Netaji and Mr Dhuli Chand have been opposing the nomination of Mr Dayanand Chandela and Mr Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, who recently joined the Congress from the BJP and ther NCP respectively, from Badarpur and Rajouri Garden respectively.
