Churchill Brothers to take on Md Sporting in IL

By Staff

Kolkata, Nov 22 (UNI) Churchill Brothers have a fair chance to go ahead in the league table when they take on an injury-plagued Mohameddan Sporting in a crucial tenth round of Indian League at Yuba Bharati Krirangan here tomorrow.

With a 0-2 loss to Dempo in the previous game, without the mercurial Mike Okoro and in-form Theodore Sunday, Md Sporting was struggling at ninth place with nine points.

It has to perhaps take on the tourists on Sunday without Okoro, Sunday and Adebayor, another foreigner, as all of them did not turn up for practice today.

''We have to go ahead with whatever we have. The game of football is unpredicatable,'' Coach Shabbir Ali said.

Brothers goalmachine Okolie Odafa, who scored ten goals and topped the list, said their aim was to win and bag all the three points.

A win tomorrow will take the Goa outfit to the second spot behind Sporting Clube de Goa, who are on top with 19 points.

Churchill Brothers have secured 14 points and the side is placed on the second position behind Air India with 16 points.

Coach Zoran Djordjevic said his boys were fit enough to fetch a win since the side did not get full points in the last five matches.

Churchill's last victory was against Vasco in the fourth round and since then, it drew four games and lost one to Mohun Bagan.
