London, Nov 21 (UNI) Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has become the envy of all the A-list guests attending the grand opening of the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai.
King Khan will get to occupy the 25,000 pounds per night exclusive suite in the hotel.
Initially Oprah Winfrey, a personal friend of Atlantis owner Sol Kerzner, was the lucky celebrity chosen to occupy the Bridge Suite during the hotel's grand opening.
But the wildfires threatening her Santa Barbara mansion put paid to the trip. ''She called yesterday to say she was really sorry but she couldn't come because there are fires in California and she had to protect her home,'' Mr Kerzner explained.
SRK got the nod instead, while the other A-list guests seethed with envy.
The Bridge Suite is the penthouse linking the hotel's two towers and boasting floor to ceiling views over the Persian Gulf.
With 10 rooms, a butler on 24-hour call and a dining table inlaid with gold leaf, it is the most opulent accommodation the Atlantis has to offer.
