P A Sangma discharged from hospital
New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) Senior NCP leader and former Lok Sabha Speaker P A Sangma, who was admitted to the Apollo hospital here on Wednesday night with complaints of chest pain, was discharged today from the hospital, a Meghalaya Government spokesperson said.
The 61 year old Mr Sangma, at present the chairman of the Meghalaya state Planning board, was admitted to the Indraprastha Apollo hospitals on November 19 for regular check up.
During his stay at the hospital, Mr Sangma underwent coronary angiography and electrophysiology study, senior consultant cardiologist at the Apollo hospitals Ravi R Kesliwal said in Mr Sangma's discharge report.
''He has been advised medical therapy and lifestyle modifications at the time of discharge,''the report said.
''He is cheerful and in a state of good health,''the Meghalaya government spokesperson said.
Sources in the Apollo hospital say Mr Sangma was first kept in the ICU but was later shifted to the general section.
President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, Assam Governor Shiv Charan Mathur, Union Minister P R Kyndiah were among a host of dignitaries who sent their wishes to Mr Sangma for his speedy recovery.
