Opp demonstrate in Assy demanding CBI probe in Agartala blast
Agartala, Nov 21 (UNI) The Tripura Legislative Assembly today witnessed noisy scenes when the Opposition Congress MLAs raised protests inside the well on two different occasions and subsequently walked out of the House demanding CBI inquiry into the Agartala bomb blast.
Speaker Ramendra Chandra Nath was compelled to adjourn the House for 35 minutes on two occasions in the second half of the day but finally could not hold the session, as eight Congress MLA sat on demonstration and shouted slogans against the Speaker and Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.
Leader of the Opposition Ratan Lal Nath alleged that the Speaker ''illegally disallowed'' his adjournment motion move demanding CBI enquiry into Agartala serial blasts on October 1, expulsion of MLA Sahid Choudhury from the Assembly for his alleged nexus with HuJI activist Mamun Mian and RSP MLA Partha Das for possessing fake SC certificate.
'' Though the Speaker disallowed the motion, he admitted a call attention on the same issue raised after me by a ruling party MLA.
Moreover, he was not allowing us to speak on misrule and failure of the government in the House and now he is assuring us that we will get equal opportunity in the House,'' Mr Nath said.
The Opposition MLAs were demanding the Chief Minister's statement on Sahid-Mamun issue and alleged that one Budhu Debbarma, night guard of Pragati Vidyabhawan of the city, was arrested for arranging a room in Bhati Abhaynagar area of the city for the prime accused of Agartala blast but police kept mum on Sahid issue though Mamun Mian had rented room in the city with the reference of Sahid Choudhury.
He said in Assam the Left parties had been demanding CBI probe into serial blasts and the government did it, but in Tripura they disagreed with CBI investigation for the same incident, which once again proved their 'double stands'.
Mr Nath also made it clear that unless the Congress MLAs get an opportunity to discuss the growing incidences of road accidents, nexus between Jihadi elements and CPM MLA Sahid Choudhury and fake SC certificate of Left Front MLA Partha Das, they would not participate in the discussion.
