Vijayawada, Nov 21 (UNI) A five-day 'National Children's Science Congress' (NCSC) would be organised at Dimapur, Nagaland, from December 27 to 31, Prof Ch Venkataramana Devi, Member Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Council of Science and Technology said here today.
Talking to newspersons here, she said President Pratibha Devisingh Patil would inaugurate the Congress whose objectives were to provide a platform to children to pursue their natural creativity and quench thirst for curiosity, stimulate scientific temperament, learn scientific methodology for oberservations, collecting data for experiment, analysis and then arriving at conclusions and to encourage to visualise future of the nation and help in building a generation of sensitive, sensible citizens.
She said as a nation wide prgramme, NCSC would be organised under the focal theme of '' Planet earth our home, Explore, Care and Share'' in different states of the country.
She said the two-day state level Children's Science Congress, organised jointly by APCOST, Rashtriya Vigyan Evam Prodyogiki Sanchar Parishad under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and Janvignan Vedika Member of National Council for Science and Technology communication would be held here from November 22 and 30 best projects would be selected from the event for the National event where two would be selected for Indian Science Congress which would be held at Shillong from January 3.
