Mild snowfall in higher reaches of tribal districts
Shimla, Nov 21 (UNI) Higher reaches of tribal districts of Himachal Pradesh experienced mild snowfall during the last 24 hours dipping reducing the night temperature below the freezing point.
Rohtang Pass experienced 10 cm snowfall while Dundi of Kullu district received 2 cm snowfall. Kalpa of Kinnuar district had 0.3 cm snowfall and Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti received only traces.
Kalpa was the coldest place in the hilly state with minus 5.5 degrees Celsius followed by Keylong minus 4.9, Manali minus 1.4, Bhuntar 1.5, Sundernagar 2.0, Shimla 3.3 and Una 4.7 degrees Celsius.
Tribal area of Mandi district, Gohar received 24 mm rainfall followed by Kot-Khai 14 mm, Bhuntar 7.4 mm, Rampur 4 mm, Sundernagar 3 mm and Shimla 1.6 mm.
Snow blanket is still visible on the major high peaks of the state. Tourist resort Kufri, Hatu peak of Narkanda and Khara Pather of Shimla, Dhaladhar range in Kangra district, Pangi and Tessa ranges of Chamba, Chrichandi of Sirmour, Shrikand Kailesh of Kinnaur are still laden with white snow sheet.
The Met office has forecast mainly clear sky for next 24 hours.
