MK confesses differences with Dayanidhi Maran
Chennai, Nov 21: DMK supremo and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M Karunanidhi has expressed openly about tensions that prevailed between himself and his nephew, Dayanidhi Maran. The Marans family and Karunanidhi's family feuded last year follwing a resignation of Dayanidhi Maran from Union Cabinet. The tension between the two families had erupted in May 2007, when the Maran owned newspaper Dinakaran had published a survey on who will be Karunanidhi's heir.
In a long article on Friday, Nov 21 Murasoli -- the DMKs mouth piece, Karunanidhi said that the Marans had been acting against him and the DMK even before the survey. Karuna questions the hasty way in which the shares of the Sun network was sold and alleges that the Marans had hoodwinked the other members of the family.
Karunanidhi said, "While the first survey was intented to create confusion in the alliance, the second one targetted my family. Both were published in spite of me asking them repeatedly not to do so. They slighted me and went againt my advise. All this even when I never once suspected them of having any ulterior motive."
In his article the DMK chief also gives enough hints that Stalin would be his political heir saying that both Azahgiri and Kanimozhi had not made any attempts to project themselves as his heir.
"When Azhagiri and Kanimozhi had not engaged in any attempt to claim to be my heir, such surverys giving them two percent chances were published with malicious intent," he added.
An emotional Karunanidhi says- "I never dreamt that these two children who were always holding my hands, when they come of age, their success and growth, will make them act against me."
He also charges the Marans of having ulterior motives when they published the survey claiming Stalin as the heir to Karunanidhi.
