Dr Abraham Ebenezer bags 'The Derozio Award
Bengaluru, Nov 21 (UNI) Founder Chairman, Ebenezer International School Bangalore, Dr Abraham Ebenezer has been selected for 'The Derozio Award', in recognition of his exemplary service to school education and enrichment of humanity.
The Award, instituted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, is to recognise, honour and motivate people to serve the nation in a manner that clearly defines leadership in an identified sphere.
Instituted in the memory of Henry LV Derozio (1809-1830), arguably the first Indian poet, freedom fighter and social reformer, it is fondly referred as the ''National Bard of Modern India''.
Dr Ebenezer, after serving as the Deputy Director of Collegiate Education, had served as the Principal of one of the prestigious institutions in Bangalore before starting his own dream project Ebenezer International School, Bangalore.
Dr Ebenezer has also received the Excellence Award in Education by Former President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam and the Rajyotsava Award by the Government of Karnataka.
The Award comprises an engraved gold medal, a citation, a silver plaque and cash Rs One lakh. It would be presented at a ceremony at Golden Glory Hall, Karnavati Club in Ahmedabad on November 26 during the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Annual Conference of the Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
