Hyderabad, Nov 21(UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today ordered immediate regularisation of the Nizam Soldiers residential quarters.
The Chief Minister had earlier suggested the Housing Board to take over the lands under a free housing scheme and construct free new flats/houses for the occupants to improve their living conditions, an official release here said.
However, since the Nizam Soldiers families and political parties favoured regularisation of the present quarters, the Chief Minister readily responded and orderedo regularisation of the decades old quarters in favour of the occupants at Band Lines, A C Guards, Masab Lines, Mohammed Lines and Banjara Darwaza in city. The vacant lands would be used for establishing schools, gardens and for other public purposes.
The Chief Minister, who chaired a review meeting on the issue with ministers, public representatives and officials at the Secretariat, said the government would to take measures as per the satisfaction of the people and ensure their proper living.
Minister for Revenue Dharmana Prasad Rao, Member of Parliament, Asaduddin Owaisi, Principal Secretary, Revenue, G Sudhir, Principal Secretary, Revenue, M Samuel and other officials attended the meeting.
