Chaturvedi to be produced in MCOCA court in Malegaon blast case
Mumbai, Nov 21 (UNI) The Anti-terrorism Squad (ATS) will today produce Malegaon blast suspect Sudhakrar Chaturvedi, an active member of radical Hindu outfit Abhinav Bharat, in a Maharashtra Control for Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court.
ATS spokesperson Inspector Dinesh Agrawal said that Chaturvedi, who is in the custody of the ATS, will be produced in the MCOCA court in the later part of day after getting remand from Nashik court.
They will also seek permission from the special court to get the custody of the other suspects in the blast from Jail authority and Pune Court, as most of them are either in Judicial custody or in Pune ATS's custody. After getting the custody, they will be produced in the MCOCA court in a couple of days, he said.
Chaturvedi was arrested on November four by the Matunga police from the Dadar railway station with a pistol, three live cartridges and a fake Army identity card.
Other suspects of the September 29 blast, that killed six and injured several other, are Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, her two associates Shamlal Sahu, Shivnarayan Singh, Ajay Rahirkar, Jagdish Mhatre, Rakesh Dhawade, Sameer Kulkarni, ex-army man Ramesh Upadhyay, Lt Col Prasad Srikant Purohit and Dayanand Pandey alias Swami Amritanand.
