New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party president Chandrababu Naidu today met senior Left Parties leaders Prakash Karat and A B Bardhan here to explore possibilities of forming a formidable third front before the coming Lok Sabha polls early next year.
Mr Naidu's meeting with the Left leaders is siginificant particularly in view of the reports that efforts between Andhra Pradesh flim actor Chiranjeevi's newly floated political outfit 'Praja Rajayam Party and the Left Parties for a possible tie-up had failed.
The TDP supremo drove down to the CPM headquarters A K Gopalan Bhawan around 1200 noon soon after his arrival here and then went to the CPI Headquartes Ajay Bhavan and held one-on-one meetings with both Mr Karat and Mr Bardhan.
Sources said that the leaders mainly discussed the seat-sharing issue for both assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh and the Lok Sabha polls.
Mr Bardhan will go to Hydrabad tomorrow to further discuss the issue. He had already discussed the seat sharing issue with other third party leader and AIADMK supremo Jayalalitha in Chennai earlier this week.
Non-Congress, non-BJP parties were making efforts to reach some understanding on seat-sharing in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and some other states which is likly to firm up in the proposed CPM's Central Committee's meeting next week here and CPI's natioal council meeting in the first week of December at Tiruvanthapuram.
