Vadodara, Nov 21 (UNI) The ruling BJP in Gujarat has sacked another VHP leader Ramesh Bhatt from the senate membership of the prestigious M S University of Baroda for his alleged support to Ahmedabad VHP general secretary Aswin Patel's anti-Modi SMS campaign.

Though the government had given no reason for Mr Bhatt's termination from the MSU post in its communique to the university authorities today, party sources said the axe had fallen on Mr Bhatt, former president of Vadodara VHP, for participating in VHP's anti-Modi movement, which started with the arrest of Mr Patel on sedition charges.

Mr Bhatt has also lost his MSU syndicate membership, which he had won in recent elections.

Earlier, the government had dropped Vadodara VHP president Ajay Joshi and another student leader Mehul Lakhani, who were nominated by the government to the MSU syndicate and senate respectively for a three-year-term in 2006. But the termination order of Mr Lakhani was later revoked when it was found that he had not joined the anti-Modi movement.
