Welspun Guj receives orders worth Rs 500 cr

Mumbai, Nov 20: The second largest line pipe company in the world, Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren Limited (WGSRL), recently won orders worth Rs 500 crore from India and overseas. With these orders, the current order book position of the company stands at Rs 9,500 crore. B R Goenka, Company Vice Chairman and Managing Director said that despite the current economic downturn, the company was able to bag such oustanding orders due to its excellent performance.

WGSRL, a part of the USD 3,000 million Welspun Group, started its activities in 1995 and since then has supplied pipes for some of the most prestigious projects including the world's deepest pipeline project in the Gulf of Mexico, USA. Welspun's state-of-the-art plants are located in Dahej and Anjar in Gujarat. The Company has started construction of the state-of-the-art facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, which has partly commenced and shall be fully commissioned by December 2008.
