Chennai, Nov 20: A former bureaucrat and two others were murdered in Ashok Nagar area in the city on Thursday, Nov 20.Police said jewels and cash were missing from the house of former TAMIN Chairman, Saravanan(74), who was found murdered with his throat slit along with his wife and a servant maid Anbarasi.
Police have registered a case of murder for gain. Since Mr Saravanan had no issues, police suspect the involvement of a close family member, who would have hired a mercenary gang to execute the murder.
The bodies were removed for post-mortem.
Senior police officials, including the city police commissioner rushed to the spot and conducted enquiries.
Tension prevailed in the area following the triple murder.
