Kolkata, Nov 20 (UNI) Romania's Elora Dabija, Sophie Ferguson of Australia, Serbia's Bojana Jovanovski and Ayumi Morita of Japan made to the semi-finals at ITF Women's Challenger here today.
Elora was stretched some 193 minutes by unseeded Noppawan Lertcheewakarn of Thailand and the European, also unseeded, prevailed over the Asian 3-6,7-6 (7-5), 7-5. The match witnessed three medical breaks, all taken by Elora.
Sophie Ferguson continued her dream run beating seventh seeded Ksenia Palkina of Kazakhstan 0-6, 6-1,6-4 to reach the semi-finals.
Qualifier Bojana Jovanovski also advanced to the semi finals beating eighth seed Chine Taipei girl Kai-Chen Chang 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (7-2).
Second seeded Ayumi Morita of Japan made to last four without dropping a set till now. She overpowered Great Britain's Emily-Smith Webley, a qualifier, 6-2,6-2.
