Record hundi collection at Chamundi temple
Mysore, Nov 20 (UNI) A record hundi collection of more than Rs six crore was netted during 2007-08 at Chamundeswari temple, atop the Chamundi hills, following increase in number of devotees.
Temple CEO Shivalinge Gowda told newspersons that the total collection was Rs 6,33,99,526, compared to Rs 4,56,64,252 netted in 2006-07.
In spite of economic downturn and high gold rates, 678 grams of gold, 1.94 kg of silver articles and cash of Rs 1,07,83,055 were collected from the temple 'golaka,' he added.
