Mumbai, Nov 20: Out of the 119 people caught in connection with a rave party held in Mumbai, 109 have tested positve for narcotics, which means the Police will have a long task ahead of them to bring the guilty to task.

Police have already started the legal proceedings but the arrests of the involved might take longer than expected due to the number of people involved. Vishwas Nangre Patil, Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police said on Wed, Nov 19, "Out of the 119 reports we have received so far 109 have tested positive." The remainder of the reports were expected in the next couple of days, he added.

On Oct 6 a raid was held at the 'Bombay 72 Degree East' restaurant in suburban Andheri. Police detained 231 persons and arrested eight alleged drug peddlers. The detained people were released after undergoing urine and blood tests, on bonds by a magistrate's court.

Patil said that the letters will be written to all those who are tested positive asking them to appear before the court within a week. They will be booked under bailable sections of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Prevention) Act, he added. The persons who had tested positive for narcotics could voluntarily choose to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation for drugs under sections of the NDPS or could face a maximum jail sentence of one year, Patil said.
