PM discusses Malegoan blasts with Advani
New Delhi, Nov 20 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had a telephonic discussion with Leader of the Opposition L K Advani yesterday after his strong worded statement demanding changing the Anti Terrorist Squad of Maharashtra Police investigating the Malegoan blasts.
BJP sources said Mr Advani had conveyed his strong disapproval about the way the ATS had handled the probe and the interogation of arrested Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur without a woman official.
"After the affidavit submitted before the trial court in Nashik by Sadhvi, one should take a serious view because such illtreatment to a woman undertrial was violative of all accepted civil and judicial norms, sources said.
The PM's call comes in the wake of statement of Mr Advani seeking total changes in the ATS team on November 17.
