Kanpur, Nov 20 (UNI) England captain Kevin Pietersen was left fuming after India was awarded a 16-run win under Duckworth-Lewis method in the third ODI here today and said it was ''frustrating'' to lose in such a manner.

''It is really frustrating. But it was really getting dark and the umpires took the decision so we can't do anything,'' Pietersen said at the post match ceremony.

Pietersen also added that England should have added few more runs to their score as a target of 241 runs on Indian pitches was very much gettable.

England had lost the first two matches by 158 runs and 54 runs but the third match here was nearing a close finish when India were declared winners after bad light forced the umpires to offer light to the home team batsmen.

However, Pietersen acknowledged that his team was improving with every outing and said England had a good chance to register their first win in the series today.

''We need to make big scores. However, there are still four games to go in the series and we are getting closer to India,'' he added.

He also pointed that the English team showed a lot of aggression in today's match and said he hopes that the visitors will keep this momentum in the remaining four matches.

''Boys showed aggression. If we keep this momentum going in the upcoming matches, you never know what is going to happen,'' he concluded.

Chasing a target of 241 in 49 overs, India was 198 for five in 40 overs when the umpires offered the home team light and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (29) and Yusuf Pathan (12), who were at the crease, accepted it.

Under some testing conditions and low visibility, Indian batsmen showed great resistance to defy the visitors and made sure that they always keep themselves well ahead of the required score under Duckworth-Lewis method.

With the third win in a row, India has now taken a 3-0 lead in the seven-match ODI series.
