Patna, Nov 20(UNI) The JD(U) today alleged that RJD supremo and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad had the habit of ignoring serious issues despite being aware of its consequences.
Party national spokesman Shivanand Tiwari told mediapersons here that Mr Prasad had made a mockery of natural justice by providing shield to Kameshwar Yadav, the main accused in the infamous Bhagalpur riot of 1989.
''Mr Yadav had killed the only son of Bibi Balima, a widow, and he was allowed to go scot-free during RJD regime due to political interference in investigation of the case,'' he pointed out.
''The poor mother continued to move from pillar to post for justice but could not get it,'' Mr Tiwari recalled and stated that Bibi Balima finally got respite during Nitish regime as Kameshwar was sent behind bars after being convicted in the case.
Mr Tiwari alleged that Mr Yadav never failed to claim himself as champion of the cause of minorities and even succeeded in getting their votes, but he had virtually no interest in uplift of the community.
