Washington, November 20 : Deborra-Lee Furness, wife of Aussie actor Hugh Jackman, has reached the point of exhaustion owing to her hubby's gay rumours that have haunted him throughout his career.
Jackman, best known for his roles in several major Hollywood films such as 'Van Helsing' and 'X-Men', has been the subject of scrutiny ever since he played the role of a gay entertainer, Peter Allen, in a Broadway production of 'The Boy from Oz'.
The 40-year-old, who has been named People magazine's 2008 Sexiest Man Alive, said his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, whom he married in April 1996, who was now bashing up the rumours, reports Contactmusic.
He said: "Debs saw the show about 50 times. She said the most infuriating times would be in the bathroom because all she'd hear is, 'Is he or isn't he gay?... I don't know, he's married... Oh, who cares, I'm sure he's gay.'
"And she used to call out from the stall, 'He's not gay. I'm telling you he's not.' And there would be silence until someone said, 'I think that's his wife.'"
