HSCARDB gives loans of Rs 129.43 cr between Apr-Oct
Chandigarh, Nov 20 (UNI) The Haryana State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank (HSCARDB), a pioneer institution in providing long term loans for agriculture and allied activities, has advanced loans amounting to Rs 129.43 crore to 8004 beneficiaries during the period from April to October this year.
A spokesman of the Bank said that loans to the tune of Rs 25.83 crore had been given for minor irrigation, Rs 20 crore for farm mechanism, Rs 6.32 crore for land development, Rs 8.83 crore for dairy development, Rs 8.60 crore for horticulture/farm forestry, Rs 18.32 crore for non farm sector, Rs 8.54 crore for purchase of land, Rs 14.92 crore for rural housing, Rs 1.45 crore for cattle shed, Rs 29 lakh for rural godowns and Rs 16.28 crore for other purposes.
He said that the Bank had made a lot of contribution in bringing about a green revolution in the State by providing maximum loans under minor irrigation, farm-mechanisation, land development and horticulture schemes.
Every third tractor in the State was financed by the Bank at that time. The loans advanced by the Bank under Sprinkler Irrigation Scheme had done wonders by making irrigation of undulating agriculture land a reality.
Now, the Bank was poised to contribute its maximum in bringing about the White and Blue Revolution in the State.
At present, the Bank had more than seven lakh members, he added.
