Gulbarga, Nov 20 (UNI) The Karnataka State Daily Wage Employees Association today issued an ultimatum upto December 10 to the State Government to regularise the services of daily wage employees working in various departments.

We have set December 10 to regularise 17,000 daily wage employees serving for more than 20 years and if the government fails then we would be left with no option but to launch 'fast unto death' agitation, Association President Chandrasekhar Hiremath told newsmen here.

He said that the issue was discussed at a cabinet meeting a few months ago and Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa had assured to pass orders to regularise the services of the daily wagers. As an initiative a cabinet sub-committee headed by Minister C M Udasi was set up to recommend measures to solve the daily wager employees problems.

''But even after four months the sub-committee had not submitted its report and it was not known when the Committee would submit its report'' he lamented.

He said that a huge demonstration would be held in Bangalore to mount pressure on the government to regularise their services.
