Mumbai, Nov 20 (UNI) A local court today permitted Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) to take custody of Sudhakar Chaturvedi, an active member of Abhinav Bharat, for interrogation in connection with the September 29 Malegaon bomb blast case.
In the blast, six people were killed while several others were injured.
Sudhakar Chaturvedi was produced before Metropolitan Magistrate at Kurla in the afternoon as his judicial custody expired today.
Thereafter, ATS had moved an application seeking his custody. The court granted the permission. He will be produced before District and Sessions Court in Nashik for remand tomorrow.
Chaturvedi was arrested on November 4 by the Matunga police from Dadar railway station. Police seized a pistol, three live cartridges and a fake Army identity card from his possession.
Chaturvedi underwent a narco test at Bangalore Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) on Tuesday and also underwent brain-mapping and polygraph tests at Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) at Kalina campus of Mumbai University in north-west yesterday.
During interrogation, he revealed that he was an active member of Abhinav Bharat, a radical Hindu outfit. Some other members of this organisation included Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and Lt Col Prasad Srikant Purohit among others have been also arrested earlier.
