Bihari labourers drugged, robbed at Railway station
Phagwara, Nov 20 (UNI) Five Bihari migrant labourers were drugged and robbed off their valuables after being drugged at the Railway station here today, police sources said.
According to reports, the labourers identified as Pawan(30), Kameshwer (32), Sarwan (20), Mishan (33) and Munna (30) were admitted at the local civil hospital in an unconscious condition.
After regaining consciousness in the evening they told the police that a conractor of Bihar who was known to them had offered them juice while they were waiting to board a train for Bihar. As soon as they consumed the juice which was laced with a drug they fell unconscious.
In the statement to the police, the five labourers said that they had been deprived of their belongings including the money which they had earned during the paddy harvesting season in Punjab. The police has registered a case in this connection and are looking for the alleged culprit.
