Rajouri, Nov 20 (UNI) People's Democratic Party (PDP) patron and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today mooted an idea of reserving at least 20 seats for Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) in the Legislative Council of the state.
Campaigning for his party's candidate from Rajouri constituency, Mr Sayeed said it was only PDP-led coalition government that had brought change in the overall scenario in the violence-hit state by taking several bold initiatives to bridge India and Pakistan for peace.
Throwing light on his party's initiatives to bring normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir, PDP patron mooted an idea of reserving seats for PoK in the state Legislative Council.
''There should be 20 seats each for PoK in the Upper House of state legislature,'' Mr Sayeed said.
Emphasising on the PDP's demand of self-rule, he said scrapping of Article 356 would be the main aim of his party. The Article 356 empowers the Union government to dissolve the elected government in Jammu and Kashmir.
