Uphill task for Vasco against Mohan Bagan tomorrow

Margao, Nov 19 (UNI) Kolkata giants Mohan Bagan have a chance of scoring full points when they take on bottom placed Vasco sports club in their 9th round of the ONGC I League Football championship, to be played here at Nehru stadium Fatorda tomorrow.

The mood in the Mohan Bagan camp was quite upbeat after winning three matches in a row againt strong teams, defending champions Dempo sports club, Churchill Brothers and JCT. it would definitely give them a psychological advantage when they step onto the field tomorrow.

Bagan at the moment are with 12 points from eight outings, with three wins, three draws and two defeats, and are looking confident.

Mohan Bagan coach, Karim Bencharifia said that he is happy with his team's performance after snatching three wins in a row. '' But every match from now is crucial for us and hope the boys will continue their same performance in the remaining matches,'' the coach added.

He is also confident of a positive result tomorrow against Vasco.

Defender Peter Odafe, who was booked with two yellow cards in the last match gainst JCT, will be out tomorrow.

The coach said '' Vasco is a good team, and will fight it out to avoid relegation,'' as they put up a good performance against JCT and Mumbai Football club to share points.

Bagan has dependable forward-line with Bhaichung Bhutia and Jose Ramirez Barreto, leading the attack, the other forward will be Isfaq Ahmed.

Far from impressive Vasco sports club, who have suffered six defeats and have only two points from two drawn matches against JCT and Mumbai Football club, are placed at the bottom.

Vasco, who have not registered a single win out of their eight outings, are desperately in need of points to avoid relegation.

Vasco's foreign striker Rovshan Tesabnev, who is nursing injury and Medio Sherzod Nazarov, booked with two yellow cards, will be out for tomorrow's match and will be heavily dependent on Angnelo D'Souza, Agnelo Colaco and Abhisek Yadav and Minino Fernandes to deliver their best.
