Kanpur,19 November (UNI) Unhappy with the high rent paid to the state government for Green Park stadium to host India-England one-dayer, Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association(UPCA) is looking for an alternative ground for staging matches here in future.
Stating this, the BCCI vice president and the UPCA secretary Rajiv Shukla told mediapersons that the amount paid to UP government as rent for stadium was the highest ever paid by any association in the country.
Expressing displeasure over the charge of Rs one crore as rent for Green Park stadium to host the India-England One dayer, Shukla said UPCA was looking for a proper ground to built an international standard stadium here In reply to a question, he said the BCCI had given green signal to the PCB on going ahead with the Pakistan tour but also added that the series is subject to the mandatory security clearance from the government.
Shukla also praises Yuvraj Singh for his oustanding back to back centuries and expressed hope that he would hit his third century in Kanpur too.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh principal secretary (Home) Kunwar Fateh Bahadur Singh arrived here this afternoon to review security during the match.
